i can feel the air in my lungs
every star in the sky is making me feel young
how could you walk down a street
and be in awe of everything you see

we aren’t ancient tonight

in fact, we are full of life
because we’ve risen from the dead
and spread out our wings

i can touch the space between my words
everything i could never think to ask for
how could you spend so much time
and just let your life pass you by

we are captured in rays of light
underneith a pure black sky
the only thing i can see 
and i’m lost in your eyes

and i guess i never found my way back
since i can still barely whisper your name
every color tastes like goodbye
i can feel the poison in my bones
